Hey! So Glad You're Here.
Hey, guys, Kate here! Welcome to my blog! First off, allow me to introduce myself: I am just a regular gal that is struggling her way through college. I love reading, warm weather, my pups, my family, the lake, and fresh fruit. If you're familiar with the Enneagram, I'm a 4, so just a fair warning that I may overshare or get deep real fast.

For 19 years of my life, I've been a creature of habit, only staying where I'm comfortable. Until about a year ago I decided that I was tired of being complacent and began the search for a new challenge. A friend encouraged me to consider looking into Miami University's Institute for Entrepreneurship. Without understanding what I may be getting myself into, I impulsively decided that I would add the co-major. What I didn't know then was how drastically my life would change... in the best way possible of course. It turns out that joining this department ended up being the best thing I've ever done during my time at Miami.

In 2019 alone, I've done more and grown more than I have in my entire life! I left the comfort of my small-town for summer and moved to the city. I went from a three-stop light town to the heart of Chicago. I lived with strangers. I ran the marketing as the only female at a growing start-up. And now, I'll be spending two weeks in Africa, loving on the people of Uganda in December. (I've never even been out of the country!)
NONE of these things have been easy for me, in fact, they all have been downright terrifying! I've cried over each of them. I've considered throwing in the towel and taking the easy way out. But something inside of me encourages me to keep going. Now that I've started, I can't stop. The feeling of being so close to giving up, yet persevering to the end is exhilarating. It's the thrill of growing.

I have the John W. Altman Institute for Entrepreneurship to thank for that. Because without it, I would probably be the same old complacent Kate. Today, I am closer to becoming the person I've always wanted to be! Follow along as I continue to share my journey with you!
