Personal Development Plan Exercise
Allocate time to review the following documents – Disc Profile, HBDI, LPI, Person Vision and Values Statement. Following your review, identify multiple (a minimum of two) strengths and two opportunities. These strengths and opportunities should reflect your reality.
- Expressing myself → deep thinking → writing
- Make a practice of daily reflection/journaling, start blog
sensitivity/understanding of other people’s feelings
- Influence → according to my DiSc profile, I am located in the Influence quadrant, meaning that I’m optimistic, open, show enthusiasm, and value relationships.
- Enneagram 4 → ability to connect deeply with own emotions, imaginative deep thinking, authentic
Also, identify and commit to multiple (a minimum of two) action items for each strength and each opportunity. An action item is defined as a specific activity (a commitment) that will enhance the strength and improve the opportunity. Also, explain the action item. Why have you chosen this action item. This is a document that can/should be used fora coaching session. In summary, your PDP will identify strengths and opportunities with multiple action items for each.
- Team mindset
- Enthusiastic about future possibilities
- Leading by example
- Self-realization

sensitivity/understanding other peoples feelings
STRENGTHS:
Expressing how I feel/ introspective
1. Make a practice of daily reflection/journaling
2. Reflect on the fact that every feeling is NOT a reality → every feeling that I have does not mean that it’s true
Sensitivity/undertstanding people’s opinions
Create a persona and design something for that persona
Listen to people’s stories with questions that evoke emotion → “How did you feel in the moment you found out that you won?”
WEAKNESSES:
Following through/self discipline
Time box your day to get things done, write steps down needed to accomplish something
Make a daily promise to myself
Speaking directly
Practice thinking before you speak, don’t rush through conversation
Project confidently and loudly instead of trailing off

Looking through my other LPIs the 'Enable Others To Act' were my highest rankings. I think it is because I am such a team oriented person I feel that I've been practicing these qualities for years now. As always there is room for improvement, but overall I feel that I answered honestly to who I am.
